Valdosta - The families of four South Georgians who disappeared at sea last year are honoring their memories.

It was one year ago that Matthew Hutchinson, Amanda Player, Jeremiah Giffin and Dominic Barros disappeared while boating off the coast of Keaton Beach, Florida. Their boat was found capsized but the Coast Guard never found the boaters.

This week, their families put out signs to remind people of the one year anniversary. They're also hoping to spread awareness on boating safety. "We're really trying to stress to people, please when you're going out boating have life jackets on, have your flares, let them know where you're going," said Sandra Hutchinson.

"Every day is hard but we make the best of it and we're trying to keep a positive influence and do the best we can to make a difference and make our children's lives a bigger impact," said Dell Player.

The friends were all employees at Hutchinson Construction in Valdosta.
