Valdosta - A South Georgia town has a new tool to help recruit small businesses.

The Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber of Commerce opened its new SEEDS center this week. That stands for Sowing Entrepreneur and Economic Development Success.

The center has all kinds of resources available for people thinking about starting a small business in Lowndes County. "We need to help young people and entrepreneurial spirits get started in developing some new kinds of business and we hope to have them stay in this area so we're going to help them get started in this area," said Carla Penny.

The center is open from 9:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday and is free of charge to anyone, not just Chamber of Commerce members.
