Homerville - A South Georgia county being sued for charging inmates room and board has stopped its billing process, at least for now.

Two former Clinch county inmates filed a lawsuit against the county for charging them 18 dollars a day for room, board, and food services. They were supposed to have their initial appearance in federal court in Macon this morning, but Clinch county agreed to a preliminary injunction that prohibits them from charging inmates any fees.

The matter will still be heard in federal court, but a trial date has not been set.
