JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Jacksonville starting linebacker Darryl Smith has a partially torn ligament in his left knee.
He might miss the team's November 14 game against Detroit.
The Jaguars are off this weekend, giving the rookie extra time to heal.
He was wearing a brace and using crutches Thursday.
He will be re-evaluated Monday, when he gets the brace removed.
Smith said he partially tore the medial collateral ligament in his knee during a kickoff return in last week's 20-6 loss at Houston.
Running back Fred Taylor says he will be ready to go against the Lions.
Taylor missed the second half of last week's game with a hip pointer.
He also strained a quadriceps muscle the week before against Indianapolis.
