Bainbridge-- A South Georgia woman will spend three years in prison for stealing from her employer. Rita Gardner of Bainbridge stole $130,000 from Southwest Georgia Oil Company where she worked as a financial assistant.

Prosecutors say she used a signature stamp to issue herself checks. "We hope this sends a message to anyone in Decatur County, anyone working in a business, that if you do betray your company, you will have to be responsible for the consequences," said District Attorney-Elect Joe Mulholland.

Prosecutors say Gardner stole the money over a four-year period.
