Power out at high school

November 4, 2004

Mitchell County - High school students in Mitchell County had to learn with back up generators on Thursday.

The power went out at Mitchell Baker High School around 8:30 Wednesday night.

By daylight, the power was still out. City of Camilla workers say the the outage happened because of old cables.

It took crews all day to dig up old cables and replace 2400 feet of cable.

Students were let out early at 1:45, but that was planned before the outage for early parent conferences. Lights are expected to be back on by the time students return Friday.
