Albany - The 2004 SIAC champion Albany State Golden Rams are getting ready to face Fort Valley State this Saturday in the Fountain City Classic.
Wildcats running back Derrick Wimbush is the conference 's offensive player of the week after his performance in Fort Valley's win over Stillman Saturday.
Albany State running back Antwan Andrews gets the conference's newcomer of the week award after Andrews rushed for 158 yards on 19 carries against Morehouse.
Albany State linebacker Luther Newton is the defensive player of the week after he intercepted two passes and center Rodney Magwood wins the SIAC's offensive lineman of the week award.
The Fountain City Classic starts at 1:30pm at McClung Memorial Stadium in Columbus.
