Lowndes County - South Georgia law enforcement officers are giving kids a safe place for Halloween fun.

The Lowndes County Sheriff's Department is hosting its annual Halloween carnival Saturday night. There will be all kinds of games and rides, and officers from all the local public safety agencies will be giving out candy.

"You're off the streets, its in a confined area, you don't have to worry about a child getting hit by a vehicle, I doubt you're going to have anyone in this area that would be trying to hurt a child or anything, and its just a safe way to have fun," said Sheriff Ashley Paulk.

The Sheriff's Department will also sell chicken dinners for $3.00 with all proceeds benefiting the Sheriff's Boys Ranch.

The event is from 5:00 until 10:00 Saturday night at the Lowndes County Sheriff's Department.
