Thomasville - Isakson and Governor Perdue stopped in Thomasville Thursday morning. "I know him to be a decent family man and a good neighbor, a good citizen," said Governor Perdue of Isakson. "He has the core values of Georgia in his heart and when I think of Johnny Isakson taking the well in the United States Senate to speak on my behalf, that makes me proud."

Isakson says his experience in the Georgia house of Representatives and in Congress has prepared him for the Senate. He said, "I served in the legislature 17 years, chaired the State Board of Education for three. Served in Congress the last six years and I am looking forward to represent Georgia in the United States Senate."

Congressman Isakson and Governor Perdue will continue their tour in South Georgia Friday morning making stops in Douglas, Waycross, Jesup and Darien.
