Albany- The Dougherty County School Board is selling an old building they don't use and finalizing a deal to get rid of controversial property.
Wednesday, the board agreed to sell this building in the 1500 block of North Jefferson to Phoebe Putney Health Systems for $95,000.
The board also unanimously agreed to sell the Home Drive property in Northwest Dougherty County to the family who originally sold it to the school system. The property is selling for $125,000.
In 1999, the board bought the property for 290-thousand dollars. Controversy erupted because the people who live in the area did not want a school there.
