Wear pink to save money and lives

October 27, 2004

Thomasville - On Friday, more than 40 Thomasville businesses will give discounts to people who wear pink in recognition of breast cancer awareness month. Whitney Boland says, "Many women are unaware of the risk factors of breast cancer and so they're not ready to detect it early enough and if more people are aware of breast cancer then they can detect it earlier which means less people will die of it, because early detection is the best protection."

Tomorrow, you can "Chalk the walk" on Broad Street in Downtown Thomasville in memory of those who have died from breast cancer and in honor of those who are survivors. That begins at 6 o'clock.
