Volunteers clean up Flint river banks

October 23, 2004

Albany-- Volunteers gathered along the banks of the Flint river Saturday to make a difference in their community.

About 40 volunteers cleaned away trash and debris from the river's banks near the Civic Center in Albany.

The clean-up is apart of the "Make-a-Difference Day", a day of volunteerism taking place across the country.

Volunteers says keeping our natural treasures clean is important.

"The river is some where to take a family or go sit down, play, go have fun," says volunteer Courtney Fliggins.
