Canton, Ohio (AP) - Former Atlanta Falcons Coach Dan Reeves joined quarterbacks Dan Marino and Steve Young today as one of 89 first-time nominees to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Reeves coached Denver to three Super Bowls and the Falcons to another.
Wide receiver Michael Irvin and Commissioner Paul Tagliabue also were among the nominees on the preliminary ballot.
The list of 89 will be narrowed first to 25 semifinalists and then to 13 finalists.
The 13 finalists will be joined by two players chosen last summer as the nominees of the old-timers committee.
A maximum of six can be elected in final voting on February 5. The inductions will be next summer.
