A south Georgia man accused of murder and two rapes in three different counties will be tried on some of those charges soon.

Sammy Lee Brown is expected to go to trial in Mitchell County in January for raping a teenager.

Brown has also been indicted in Dougherty County for killing Sonya-Anna Thomas. The murder happened after Brown was mistakenly let out of the Lee County Jail last year. That trial date has not been set.

Brown is also accused of raping and stealing from an elderly woman in Ware County. That arraignment is expected to be November 30th.

The rapes happened a year before the murder.
