Albany - An Albany church collected enough food and supplies for hurricane victims to pack a semi-truck trailer. The truck will leave Wednesday for Sarasota, Florida. Lakeside Baptist Church collected tens of thousands of dollars in donations over the last two weeks.
Pastor Ken Chancellor says people from surrounding counties and churches helped fill the trailer. "We started with one item and now the trailer is loaded to the back. We just want to thank everyone that helped and participated."
Lakeside Baptist was flooded in 1994 and 1998, so members know how important giving neighbors can be.
