Thomasville - Just after sunset Sunday evening, Jan Vanheiningen of Thomasville was walking through the Wal-mart parking lot, when a man leaned of a passing car, and snatched her purse from her shoulder.

Sgt. Rachelle Denmark of the Thomasville Police Department says, "We're getting closer to Christmas now, the holidays are coming up. It would behoove the general public to really pay attention to what's going on around them, even if it is Wal-mart parking lot."

The suspect is a stocky, white male in his late 20's. He has a sandy blonde crew cut and was wearing a sleeveless bright blue shirt at the time. The car is a burnt orange Pontiac.

Anyone with information should call the anonymous tip line at 227-3305. There is a $1,000 reward leading to arrest and conviction of suspect.
