Arkadelphia, AK.--Valdosta State quarterback Fabian Walker set a new school record for consecutive completions and the Blazers rolled to their fifth straight win 27-18 over Henderson State Saturday.
Walker connected on his first 21 passes ( going 20 for 20 in first half) and finished 31 of 34 for 248 yards and a touchdown. The senior from Americus snapped current VSU head coach Chris Hatcher's record of 20 consecutive passes set back in 1994.
The Blazers (5-1, 5-0) jumped out to a 17-6 halftime lead and tacked on ten more points in the second half to remain unbeaten in GSC play. Bama Adams returned a punt 43 yards for a score in the third quarter and Will Rhody continued to remain steady kicking the ball, booting two field goals and three extra points.
Valdosta State returns home Saturday to host West Alabama.
