Tifton-- The Tift County Blue Devils are off to a fast start, and this week, Tift County quarterback Donnell Cullins is the Orthopaedic Associates / The Spine and Brain Center player of the week.
Dr. Paul Michas presented Donnell with his award Thursday.
Last week, Donnell Cullins ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more in the Blue Devils 34-2 win over Valdotsa. Cullins didn't just make big plays on offense. He also recovered two fumbles and had an interception as the Blue Devils converted all three of those turnovers into points in Tift County's first win over Valdosta in Tifton in 25 years. "The game meant alot to us. It is my last year, my last time playing them, my last time seeing them."
Coach John Weldon said, "Donnell prepares hard. The team opened up some holes for him and he just took advantage of the opportunities he had on the field and it is just a credit to him and the rest of the guys in how hard they have worked this year."
Tift County goes for their second straight region win tomorrow night when the Blue Devils face a big road trip to Douglas to face the Coffee High Trojans.
