Albany -- WALB viewers helped nab man police accuse of robbing a Tifton Bank last week.

Investigators believe 63-year old Bobby Gene Barfield of Chula robbed the South Georgia Bank in this Tifton Winn Dixie a week ago.

Barfield didn't have a gun but walked out of the bank with several thousands dollars he eluded police for days.

The break in the case came dozens of tips, some of which came from viewers who saw surveillance photos on WALB News Ten.

Only a small portion of the money has been recovered. Barfield who is currently being held in the Tift County Jail could face 20 years in prison if he found guilty.
