Albany - One in ten people over 65 years-old have Alzheimer's Disease, and 50% of people over 85 years-old suffer from the disease. Scientists say they're 10 years away from finding a cure.

The Albany Alzheimer's Association is holding a dinner and Memory Walk this weekend. For $25, you can enjoy dinner, dancing, and a tour of the new Flint Riverquarium Friday night.

And 8:00AM Saturday, put on your walking shoes to help cure Alzheimer's Disease.

"I think it's the general consensus that giving to charities is off this year," said Nancy goode, Alzheimer's Association. "We're really working hard to get our funding up because we're only about ten years away from a vaccine for a cure. So, we don't want to have to stop research now."

Proceeds from the dinner and Memory Walk go to research and treatment of the disease and assistance for the caregivers of people with Alzheimer's. For more information, call 229-888-7676.
