Albany-- Police release the names of five fired Officers, but won't say if more firings are coming.
"That is a part of the independent review of the APD hiring process," said APD Lt. Kenn Singleton.
Police spokesmen won't say if the officers lied on their job applications or left out facts. But the three officers were fired September 24th after an independent review into former Chief Bobby Johnson's hiring practices.
Patrol Officer Gregory Maddox had been with APD 14 months; Jacqueline Cullen for 12 months; and Vincent Sibley 16 months. "Thus far these individuals, information was looked at and this was where was found some falsification in the application," said Singleton.
Two officers, Kelvin Thomas and David Sanchez, were fired after being indicted by the grand jury. Thomas last May for Aggravated stalking and simple battery. David Sanchez for having a relationship with a 16 year old girl against her parents' wishes.
Sources told us other officers are in the process of being fired, but Police spokesmen won't say if the hiring practices review continues or if more officers might be terminated.
