Albany Bank and Trust wins Bank of Year award

September 28, 2004

Albany  --  Albany Bank and Trust has been chosen the Community bank of the year for the state of Georgia, and their President will be losing his hair because of it.

A.B.and T. was chosen number one from the 314 financial institutes in Georgia, by the Community Bankers of Georgia.

They were judged on service to customers, employee involvement, complaint resolution, and community involvement.

President Bob Lee says customer service is why they won this award in just their fifth year in business.  "I think it's our people. The Board of Directors all the way through the staff, everybody is enthusiastic. Everybody has a passion about trying to take care of our customers."

Bob Lee told his employees he would shave his head if they won this State Bank of the Year Award, and now he will pay off Wednesday.

Albany Bank and Trust is the sixth largest bank in Albany, with assets of more than 190 million dollars.
