Moultrie-- When Tropical Storm Jeanne began moving through Colquitt County, she made sure everybody knew she was here.

Wind gusts of almost 50 miles per hour shook signs, snapped limbs, and pushed over trees that took power lines with them, leaving many Moultrie traffic lights out and the streets dark.

Morning finally broke through, shedding light on even more toppled trees. Like these enormous pines in the yard of Uela Purvis. Neighbors say it was time for these to be removed anyway.

But the biggest job for City of Moultrie lineman was the mess made when wind snapped this utility pole and left transformers on the ground.

High enough to leave most people in Colquitt County waiting on linemen, the ones with the power to clean up the mess left by Tropical Storm Jeanne.

Tropical Storm Jeanne knocked out power to 90 percent of the homes in Colquitt County.
