Conway, AR.--Will Rhody kicked a school record five field goals and the Valdosta State Blazers created six turnovers in a 22-12 win over the Central Arkansas Bears Saturday night.
The five field goals by Rhody tied a Gulf South Conference record. VSU, who improved to 3 and 1 overall and 3 and 0 in the conference with the victory, intercepted Bears quarterback Zak Clark five times and recovered one fumble in the win.
The Valdosta State offense was led by quarterback Fabian Walker who finished the night 26 of 32 for 195 yards and a touchdown. Moultrie's Tyran Robinson chipped in with 89 yards on the night and VSU owned the time of possession, keeping the ball for more than 36 minutes.
Valdosta State returns home next Saturday afternoon to host Delta State, a big 56-34 winner over Henderson State Saturday.
