CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) _ Jermaine Austin rushed for 167 yards and scored two touchdowns, one for 63 yards, to help Georgia Southern beat Chattanooga 51-to-17 tonight.
Austin's first touchdown was a one-yard run early in the first quarter and his long one came with 3:46 left in the quarter to put Georgia Southern (3-1, 2-0 Southern Conference) up 16-to-0.
Chattanooga (0-3, 0-1) never really challenged the Eagles. Jonathan Godfrey got the Mocs their first score with a 39-yard field goal in the second quarter.
Chattanooga's final two scores came in the fourth on a one-yard run by Lironnie Davis and a five-yarder by Antonio Miller, but by then the game was out of reach. Davis did lead Chattanooga with 63 yards rushing.
