Albany--Augusta's Laura Coble bounced back from a six over par 78 in her first round with an even par 72 Wednesday to grab sole possession of the lead at the Georgia Women's Golf Association Championship at Doublegate Country Club.
Coble, who claimed the title last year and in 1999, leap frogged first round leader Ellen Dempsey of St. Simons on the leaderboard.
Dempsey followed her first round of 75 with a seven over 79 Wednesday to slip into a second place tie with Danielle Davis and four shots behind Coble.
For Coble, a chance to claim her third title in five years is something she's been focusing on ever since claiming last year's crown.
"That's been my goal this year, to play well in this tournament and to win again and I just hope the chips fall right for me," Coble said.
