Valdosta, GA (September 20, 2004)....Nick Rousey (Pensacola, FL) got a little help
earlier in the week with his swing alignment from one of his friends on Tour
and the NGA Hooters Tour rookie is taking full advantage of the help.
Rousey fired a second round three-under par 69 to sit alone in first place after two rounds of The Langdale Ford Championship at Kinderlou Forest.
The former Alabama golfer holds a slim one stroke lead over Tee McCabe (Marco Island, FL), who stands alone in 2nd place after a pair of 71's.
"I got going fast today with birdies on three of my first holes," said Rousey. "The difference in today's round and yesterday's round is I had three good par saves from that 6-10 foot range."
Elliot Gealy (Salisbury, NC), a three-time winner on The Hooters Tour, sits in third after a disappointing 73 dropped him to one-under for the Championship.
Albany native Dave Hill (+2) shot his second consecutive 1 over 73 Tuesday to stay within striking distance of Rousey. Hill is currently tied for twelfth and five shots back. Fellow Albanian Josh Broadaway (+8) missed the cut by one shot after a five over 78.
Other local golfers to make the cut were Stonebridge assistant pro Chris Dixon (tied for 50th at +6) and Moultrie's Jack Croyle (tied for 59th +7).
Sixty-five golfers made the cut, which fell at 7-over par, and will play 36 holes on Tuesday, September, 21, 2004.Tee times for Round Three will begin at 7:30am, with the leaders going off of number 1 at 9:00am. Players will not be regrouped for Round Four, which will begin at 12:30pm, with the presumed leaders teeing off at 2:00pm.
