Thomasville - Thomas County students are taking the Iowa Test of Basic skills (ITBS) this week. Teachers say parents can help students do their best on the test by making sure they're prepared.

Cross Creek Elementary School Principal Bernice Mitchell says, "Try not to put too much stress on them. They need to eat well, they need to get plenty of rest, and just encourage them to do well on the test."

It is also very important that students are on time everyday, since the testing takes place in the morning. Students will test about an hour and a half everyday through Thursday.
