Colquitt County - A Colquitt County investigator and two deputies have resigned.

Investigator Jason Thompson, Deputy Mark Williams and Deputy John Love were involved in two crashes while off duty.

On Labor Day, Williams lost control of Thompson's truck on a rain slicked road and ran into a business. They left the scene because Thompson knew the owner and wanted to settle the next day.

Several hours later, Thompson crashed and totaled the same truck after running a stop sign. State Troopers charged him with DUI.

Love was not ticketed but also resigned.

Colquitt County Sheriff Al Whittington says all three were exceptional employees who made a bad decision.
