Blakely -- A Blakely firefighter is being hailed a hero, after he carried a woman out of the path of a tornado.

Several tornadoes swept through Blakely Wednesday night, the first right in front of the Magnolia Street fire station. Firefighter Eric Wimberly ran toward the tornado to save a woman in its path.

Wimberly said "She came, but barely could make it this way. With the adrenaline going, I ran out there and picked her up, and brung her on the porch, But if they had kept going, they would have walked right into the path of the tornado."

The woman fainted when Wimberly got her into the fire station, but she was uninjured.
