Adel-- Andrel Lane certainly knew the road to the endzone last week. The senior scored three touchdowns and had 257 yards rushing to lead Cook High to a 34-19 win over Monroe. That performance earned Andrel a visit from Dr. Glenn Williams Orthopaedic Associates and the Spine and Brain Center as Dr. Williams presented Lane with this week's player of the week award.
Cook High head coach George Deais not surprised that Andrel Lane has earned player of the week honors. Dean describes his star running back as a hard worker who is always the first in the weight room and the last off the practice field.
Lane said, "It means a lot to me. I am progressing really good and I am just getting better, and working harder and harder to get that ring."
Andrel Lane and the Cook High Hornets are on the road Friday night against Mitchell-Baker in a big region game.
