Valdosta - A South Georgia couple is making sure they never forget Hurricane Ivan.
Rocco Reed and Rachele Mercer named their newborn son after the storm. Ivan Dwayne Reed was born Wednesday at South Georgia Medical Center.
"Its kind of funny that I was having him while the hurricane was coming and starting to hit, he was hitting me just as hard as Florida was being hit," said Mercer.
The parents had another name picked out for their son, but changed their minds at the last minute. Mother and baby are doing fine.
