Lady Cavs ready to open season in new arena

September 15, 2004

Albany - Basketball season is just around the corner and the Darton Lady Cavaliers are looking forward to their first ever season in the new Cavalier Arena.

The Lady Cavs are going to open their new home court in style thanks to State Farm Insurance.

State Farm is sponsoring a two day basketball tournament featuring Darton, ABAC, North Florida Community College and Enterprise on the weekend of November 5th-6th.

The support from the corporate community for the Darton athletic program is just what new athletic director Todd Davis is looking to build on.

Davis believes State Farm's sponsorship will boost attendance for the grand opening of the Cavalier Arena where local fans will find out what State Fram officials did in their first look at Darton's new home court.

Todd Davis said "You know I don't think alot of people realized what we have got under this roof and to watch them go around the area and see what we have, I though that was a great situation too. They realize the type of facility we have and we are anxious to show it off with the community."

The State Farm Classic begins with ABAC playing Enterprise and Darton facing North Florida on Friday night. On Saturday, Darton will play Enterprise and ABAC will play North Florida Community College.
