Albany - Two Albany State University Lady Rams volleyball matches have been cancelled.
The Miles College game, scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m., and the University of North Alabama game, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. will not be played, according to head coach Robert Skinner.
"The teams had some concerns about traveling during the storm," Skinner said. "We are concerned, first and foremost, about the safety and well-being of all athletes."
The Miles College game will be rescheduled for another date, but the North Alabama game will not be rescheduled, Skinner said.
The Lady Rams will play the North Alabama team on Oct. 10 in Florence, Ala.
The Lady Rams will take on SIAC rivals, Paine College Lady Lions on Friday, Sept. 17, and the Benedict College Lady Tigers on Sunday, Sept. 19, at HPER Gymnasium in Albany.
The Lady Rams will play four games on the road at Savannah State University, Fort Valley State University, Georgia Southwestern State University and Clark Atlanta University; and participate in a tournament at the University of Montevallo before returning to their home court on Oct. 4 to play Alabama A&M University at 6 p.m.
ASU volleyball games are free and open to the public.
