Albany- 73 year old Earl "Brother" Jones, of Newton, passed away Friday.

Jones practiced law for nearly 50 years, and during much of his career he was the only attorney in Baker County.

South Georgia attorneys say Jones will be remembered as one of the greatest lawyers of his generation.

"He was never in your face. He'd call you up and saw John isn't there some way we can settle this case, and he could disarm you with his charm," says Attorney John Vansant.

Jones also served as an assistant district attorney in Dougherty County from 1984 to 1992. Funeral services for Jones were held Monday in Camilla.
