Albany -- South Georgia's emergency volunteers are preparing to assist during Hurricane Ivan or other possible disasters.
Volunteers attended this GEMA disaster training class in Albany today. They learned how to respond to hazardous material accidents, to handle infectious disease outbreaks and to help storm victims.
"It makes me feel like I'm helping the community, helping them to become more aware," says volunteer Don Mazza.
More than 35 people attended the volunteer training class this weekend.
