Boston - In an apparent murder/suicide, a South Georgia mother shoots her daughter, then turns the gun on herself.

It happened around 3:00 AM Friday. Investigators believe 36-year-old Wendy Armstrong of Thomasville drove to Boston and parked in front of the police department. She then shot her nine-year-old daughter, Madalene, in the upper body, and turned the gun on herself.

Boston Police Chief, Chuck Weaver says, "It would shake anybody, certainly even a police officer. We're trying to put together the pieces now."

A Boston police officer, who was on patrol, found the victims. Madalene was a student at Jerger Elementary School in Thomasville.
