Tifton-- The president and CEO of the Tifton-Tift County Chamber of Commerce is resigning. James Chaves, who has headed the Chamber for more than 6 years, will be leaving at the end of the month to take another CEO position for an economic development council in Tennessee.

"It's a new set of challenges. I like being at the start of  an organization when they are just gettting off the ground. It's a good next step,"says Chaves.

The Chamber is currently conducting a national search for Chaves' replacement.
