Libertarian candidate says less government

September 7, 2004

Albany- Senate candidates Denise Majette and Johnny Isakson get most of the attention, but they do have competition for Zell Miller's senate seat.

Allen Buckley is the Libertarian candidate. He says many of the federal governments roles should be downsized, especially in education.

"The U.S. used to be number one in the 50's in education and it's dropped significantly," Buckley said. "Throwing more and more federal bureaucracy, more and more federal dollars at the problem isn't going to solve it. It mainly comes down to the parents, the child and the teachers."

Buckley is an attorney and CPA who specializes in employee benefits and tax law.
