Tifton -- Three South Georgians, all over 80 years old, were killed in a head on collision in Tifton Tuesday.

This is what's left of the Buick 81-year old Charley Murry of Albany was driving. A little after 7 Murry's car crossed the center line on U-S 82 west of Carpenter road and hit a Chevrolet Impala. The people in that car, 83 year old Orville Ferrell and his wife Rachel of Tifton, were killed instantly.

Investigators think Murry may have suffered a heart attack before the crash. Tifton Police Sgt. Steven Laska said "Just looking at it possibly a medical condition, but we are not for sure at this time."

Both Murry and the Ferrell's were wearing their seat belts.

Investigators say weather did not play a part in the crash.

A fatal wreck on I-75 is slowing down the return of evacuees to Florida. At least one person was killed in the three-car accident in the southbound lanes near mile post 73 in Turner County.

Traffic was backed up for 11 miles until DOT crews re-routed traffic to US 41.

The names of the people involved and details on what happened have not been released.
