Albany-- Today, damage assessment and clean-up began in the Good Life City, after Frances socked us with rain all day yesterday.
Public Works crew worked through the night cleaning out clogged catch basin so streets and yards wouldn't flood. Today, those crews are cutting down and removing dozens of fallen trees and limbs.
This massive oak tree was more than 200 years old. Rain soaked grounds and high winds caused it to uproot, snap like a twig and fall over. It landed on the home but amazingly did little damage. The homeowner were here and heard saw the huge tree limb coming at the house.
There are many stories like this family around Albany. This morning Public Works crews started cutting down this 100 year old oak that also fell on a house on 7th Avenue.
