Thomasville-- When the first outer squalls of tropical storm Frances passed through South Georgia, trees and utility lines were downed, leaving many without power.

About 10 to 15 percent of Thomas County residents were without power last night more than 3,000 without power in Bainbridge, and that list continues.

The wind gusts we were experiencing last night are now what we are experiencing as sustained winds. The Georgia industries for the Blind in Bainbridge will be closed tomorrow. We will have more details on school and business closings tonight at 6:00.
