Albany-- Hotels on Interstates 75 and 95 and west on I-10 are be full, but there are other options.

The American Red Cross has opened a shelter with showers and beds at ABAC in Tifton. The location is exit 64 off I -75 to ABAC. Pets can be accommodated at the Tifton Humane society when checking into the shelter.

Spence Field south of Moultrie is opening its campground for hurricane evacuees at no charge. The First Baptist Church of Moultrie, located at 400 South Main St., is also a shelter, and can house 200 people.

Another area that's available to evacuees is in Lee County. At the new Lee County jail on Pinewood Road, there is a large, open field where the firing range is. That field will be set up to accommodate evacuees in recreational vehicles. Sheriff Harold Breeden says there is a large classroom available for shelter that has showers and restrooms.

And if needed, the Red Cross has approved First Baptist Church in Leesburg as a shelter.

The Riverbend campground located on Highway 129, north of Alapaha will be open for evacuees. Their website is www.riverbendbluegrass.com . For more info call 229-425-0805. The normal rate is $10 but that has been cut in half. Dry camping is free. There are two bathhouses and one large covered shelter and a big building that can shelter people.

In Hampton, Atlanta Motor Speedway will open its campgrounds this weekend to evacuees of Hurricane Frances. The speedway, which is equipped to handles thousands of campers during its two annual NASCAR race weekends, will open its two largest gravel campgrounds to evacuees free of charge.

AMS will also open its camper shower facilities, allowing evacuees free access to hot showers and restroom facilities. Atlanta Motor Speedway is located approximately 25 miles south of Atlanta on Hwy 19/41 and approximately eight miles west of I-75.

For more information, call the Atlanta Motor Speedway offices at (770) 707-7904 or visit www.atlantamotorspeedway.com .
