Valdosta - A former South Georgia District Attorney accused of having sex with a witness admits he lied to F.B.I. agents.

Former Alapaha Judicial Circuit D.A. Bob Ellis pleaded guilty to making a false statement. According to a plea bargain, the charges of civil rights violations and witness tampering were dropped.

Ellis will be sentenced in about 60 days, and is not expected to receive more than 3 years in prison.
