Valdosta - A South Georgia town is recognized for its success in recruiting new businesses.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development has named Valdosta its first Entrepreneur Friendly Community. Business leaders say the local chamber of commerce is a model of how to attract new industry and economic development.

"They have always had a great start up kit that they've given new businesses and now they have some really exciting plans to start an actual resource center here at the chamber for entrepreneurs and small businesses," said Don Betts.

The city of Douglas has also been named an Entrepreneur Friendly Community.
