Albany - 35% of adult cancer is linked to obesity - a good reason to lace up your running shoes and start training for an upcoming Albany event. The Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition is holding a Riverfront 5-K run and one mile walk on October 23, 2004 at 8:30AM in the park downtown.

Tuesday, the Mayor, with running shoes in hand, challenged other county leaders to exercise and lose weight. "You can choice between a 5K run or mile walk," said Dr. Adams. "I would like to challenge my good friend, on the county side, Jeff Sinyard to choice which one of the two he would like to do. And, we'll get in on!"

All money raised benefits the Cancer Care Fund which is used for cancer awareness, education, research, prevention, and treatment for cancer patients in Southwest Georgia.
