SPLOST money spread thin

August 30, 2004

Albany - Big plans will have to shrink for some proposed community projects in Dougherty County. Monday, city and county commissioners agree to set aside about $20.9-million in sales tax revenue to community projects - ranging from an addition to the Civil Right's Museum to the continuation of the Greenway Trails downtown. But, there were more than $53-million in requests.

Commissioners are expected to decide Tuesday just how much money each project would get if voters decide to continue the $0.01 sales tax in November.
