Albany -- The SOWEGA Council on Aging in Albany is getting money to help feed hundreds of senior citizens. The council will use the $60,000 federal grant to renovate the kitchen they use to prepare more than 400 hot meals a day for clients.

"This is a very important program in our community that reaches the needs of a lot of needy seniors," says Albany City Manager Janice Allen Jackson.

Faith Outreach Ministries, a homeless shelter, was also awarded a grant to make improvements in it's program.
