Valdosta - A new career center is helping South Georgians find jobs.

The Georgia Department of Labor opened a new career center in Valdosta Thursday. The 36 thousand square foot facility includes a state of the art computer lab, G.E.D. training, migrant classes, and several job placement programs.

Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond says its the top career center in the state. "Citizens who come looking for information and employment opportunities can do it all in one location and we have technology that's completely accessible for the disabled," said Thurmond. "There's really nothing like it anywhere else in Georgia."

The center is located in downtown Valdosta on South Ashley Street.
