Albany - The Darton Cavalier baseball and softball teams will have some new power in their lineup this spring.
The new power will not be in their batting lineups but at their fields.
Installation of lights at both the Darton baseball and softball fields began Wednesday.
The lights will be placed on the stands tomorrow and the poles will be lifted into place next week.
The installation of lights is a dream come true for Darton baseball coach Glenn Eames who literally built the Cavaliers home field seven years ago and hopes that the option of starting games later in the day and at night will increase attendance.
Glenn Eames said "That is one of the big things I have heard out in the community when I was out talking to them and speaking and whatever and that is alot people of course are working and people could not get out here to watch us play and we are hoping we will have more fan support because of the lights."
The Lady Cavs softball team are not only getting new lights they will also be playing on a completed rebuilt field this spring.
Coach Eames says the cost of lighting both fields totaled almost $130.000.
